A dental crown can protect and strengthen a tooth that has been cracked, heavily filled, worn or otherwise weakened. Covering a vulnerable tooth with crowns reduces the risk of tooth fracture and tooth loss.
Following root canal treatment, a crown may be recommended to protect the remaining tooth structure and restore normal function. A crown can help protect the weakened tooth and reduce the risk of future fracture.

At Park St Dental Practice in Mona Vale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, your crown or bridge treatment is carefully planned around your teeth, bite and individual needs. From assessment and digital scanning to the final restoration, we focus on achieving a comfortable fit, reliable function and a natural-looking result.
We begin by assessing your teeth, gums and bite and discussing your concerns and goals. X-rays may be taken where required to assess the tooth and surrounding structures. We will then discuss whether a crown or bridge is appropriate for your individual needs.
Your tooth is carefully prepared before we take a precise digital scan or impression. Your crown or bridge is then custom-made to complement the shape, colour and appearance of your natural teeth, while providing the strength and function for comfortable biting and chewing.
Once your restoration is ready, we carefully check the fit, bite, colour and appearance before securing it in place. We make any necessary adjustments to ensure it feels comfortable and functions naturally. We will also explain how to care for your new crown or bridge to help maintain it for years to come.
